I sort of fell into rock and roll recently. I used to be a music purist, so to speak. I thought if a musician couldn't play his instrument perfect all the time, he wasn't a real musican. It was when I first heard Stevie Ray Vaughan and the kind of feeling and emotion he had in his playing, that I realized that it's not so much what you play as how you play it. I still enjoy a really tight musical arrangement, like big band and tight jazz, like Steely Dan, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, that kind of stuff. But while all of these groups are incredible musicians, they don't sacrifice the soul.
